ThriftLDN is built on trust between neighbours. These simple rules keep our marketplace safe and friendly for everyone.

Be Genuine

  • •London postcodes only - we're a local community
  • •Use real photos of actual items you own
  • •Honest descriptions save everyone time
  • •One personal account per person

Be Safe

  • •Meet where you're comfortable - your doorstep, local cafe, or tube station
  • •For home collections, consider meeting at your building entrance
  • •Bring a friend if you prefer
  • •Payment on collection - cash or instant bank transfer (Monzo, Revolut, etc.)
  • •Trust your instincts - if something feels off, it probably is

Be Respectful

  • •Respond within 24 hours - everyone's time matters
  • •Show up on time or give notice if plans change
  • •No offensive language or harassment
  • •Price fairly - we're neighbours helping neighbours
  • •Keep conversations in-app until meeting arrangements are confirmed

Not Allowed

  • Stolen goods
  • Counterfeit or fake items
  • Weapons, drugs, or illegal items
  • Spam, scams, or misleading listings
  • Animals or livestock
  • Business/commercial selling (this is for personal items only)
  • Adult content or services
  • Tickets or digital goods

Zero Tolerance Policy

We verify all users, but if someone breaks these rules, report them immediately.

  • •First offense: Warning and listing removal
  • •Second offense: Permanent ban
  • •Serious violations: Immediate ban and reported to authorities if illegal

Banned users cannot create new accounts - we track device IDs and phone numbers.
